National Cave Rescue Commission

What We Do

The National Cave Rescue Commission (NCRC) provides specialized cave rescue training and shares essential knowledge, skills, and resources for effective cave rescue.  It is a volunteer group focused on training and tracking cave rescue resources across the United States. NCRC is not a functional rescue team; It is a training organization that offers training and development opportunities for individuals and organizations. NCRC represents the Society on cave rescue training and operations issues.

Through quality training and public education that stresses stewardship and conservation, we strive to facilitate the best possible outcomes for those in need.

NCRC Courses

Providing cave rescue training is the heart of NCRC's work. Our curriculum is centered around the following classes:

Orientation to Cave Rescue

Level 1 - Task Force Member

Level 2 - Task Force Leader

Level 3 - Task Force Member

Team Operations and Field Exercises (TOFE)

Small Party Assisted Rescue (SPAR)

Scholarships

The NSS is a non-profit and NCRC is entirely volunteer run. Our goal is to keep class costs as low as possible. But we realize even that can be a financial burden for some. Because of this we have a scholarship program available. Please contact us for information and availability.
